Abstract The effects
of the Misgurnus anguillicaudatus polysaccharide on removal of
reactive oxygen species in some modified chemical systems were investigated by
chemiluminescence and spectrophotometry. The inhibition of the damage of DNA
chain induced by hydroxyl radical by the Misgurnus anguillicaudatus
polysaccharide was observed by chemiluminescence. The results showed that the Misgurnus
anguillicaudatus polysaccharide could efficiently remove O・–2,・OH,
H2O2 and other active compounds of oxygen and
significantly protected DNA chains from being damaged by free radicals.
Key words loach (Misgunrus
anguillicaudatus) polysaccharide; reactive oxygen species; DNA; scavenger of free radicals; anti-oxidation
